San Diego Rescue Mission
The San Diego Rescue Mission was founded in 1955 and has long stood as staple for addressing homelessness in Downtown San Diego. The Mission offers a 12-Month Academy where students can live onsite getting the resources, care, and counseling they need to overcome homelessness. Along with the academy, SD Rescue runs an Emergency Overnight Shelter for Women & Children, an onsite certified Pre-School, and a substantial Hunger Relief Program throughout San Diego County.
This non-profit is a faith-based 501c3: meaning there is no government funding coming in. The Development Team at SD Rescue is a force for good, working hard to meet a large yearly fundraising budget. Working with the VP of Development and Marketing Manager, my role is to tell the story of the Rescue Mission’s work in meaningful, tangible way that inspires donors and helps cultivate giving.
Since February of 2019, I’ve helped drive and refine the voice of the Mission through social media management, copywriting, blog & email creation, and more.

“Working with Cameron has taken our digital marketing efforts and social media presence to a new level. He works hard to understand our organization and our audience to produce high quality content that authentically reflects our voice and values. He’s become a critical part of our team and with his help, we’re building a digital presence we can truly be proud of.”
— Michelle Smith, VP of Development, SDRM.
